Flora meets fauna

Meet animals

Yuna the gibbon swings deftly through the trees distributing seeds as she goes, a pair of myna birds fly freely through Borneo and the colourful carp make the koi pond the main attraction in the Japanese Garden. Each of our animals represents a special way of living in the wild. Meet them up close – you might even become the best of friends.

Conserve species

Make friends

Our gibbons, Knuppy, Yuna, Wody and Jupp, are ambassadors for the protection of their species in the rainforests of Southeast Asia. In fact, white-handed gibbons are now practically only still found in designated conservation areas, where they have an important role to play in the survival of the forest. Here at botanika, the animals are safe from threats like deforestation and poachers – and have already made friends with some humans. Anyone interested can become a sponsor and help ensure that our close relatives feel completely at home here.
