The Discovery Centre
There are lots of things you can touch, see and try out in the Discovery Centre.
For example:
- Hear exciting stories about plants.
- Watch bees at work.
- Let seeds fly and learn how plants spread.
The outdoor area
botanika also has an outdoor area.
Plants from Germany and across Europe grow there.
Insects love these plants.
That’s why the outdoor area is also called the insect garden.
Insects are important.
Insects help plants to multiply.
You can find out lots about insects and their favourite plants in the insect garden.
The Tropical Greenhouse
The Tropical Greenhouse is in the outdoor area.
The Tropical Greenhouse contains plants from the rainforest.
And there are butterflies.
They fly free.

The white-handed gibbons
The white-handed gibbon enclosure is in the outdoor area.

Take tram no. 4 in the direction of Lilienthal.
Get off at the Bürgermeister-Spitta-Allee stop.
You can now walk to botanika.
Or:
Take bus no. 31 in the direction of Nedderland.
Get off at the Rhododendron-Park stop.
You can now walk to botanika.

Park in the street Deliusweg.
Or use a parking space in the street Marcusallee.
